Hello, I'm Rishi! I recently graduated with a BS in Public Health on the Premed track from UT Austin, and am now attending Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. I have been tutoring for years in various different aspects, from being a teaching assistant for Biochemistry to privately MCAT tutoring on my own. One thing I have noticed is that students often prefer a teacher who is adaptable in curriculum and teaching style, and that is an aspect I pride myself upon. Whether it's drilling content, visual diagrams, testing strategy, or another facet of learning, I am confident in my ability to mold my teaching style to what fits you best. Generally, my teaching style defaults to problem-based learning, using questions and practice during sessions to supplement my students' at-home and school based learning. This allows students to recognize patterns in questions and utilize that experience on their actual exams.
As for my experience and qualifications, in high school I scored a 1580 on my SAT, with a 780 Math and 800 Reading. I scored a 519 on my MCAT in college with a 132 CARS section score, and have over 600 hours of microbiology research in a hospital laboratory. During my undergrad, I also was a head TA for Biochemistry, with over 200 hours of teaching experience with a structured university lesson plan. I am a current MS1 at Baylor College of Medicine, and am constantly adding new knowledge to my own repertoire as a result.
I am very excited to help you succeed in any way I can! Whether that means giving you advice on the pre-med track and lifestyle, helping you through the MCAT grind, or being a guide through the rigors of high school, I am very passionate for teaching.
