Providing Math, Coding, and Physics support at HS/Undergrad level

My name is Josh Baker; I am an engineer with my Bachelor's in Computer Scientist, a minor in Physics, and am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Applied Physics. I have a particular love for the cross-section of math, programming, and the physical world, and it's my dream to teach full time in the future.

I have been providing tutoring services off and on since 2018, having worked for other online services like Chegg and Varsity Tutors for about four to five years. I have also spent a year tutoring in person at a center called Learning Linkz in Alpharetta, GA. Most of my students have been in the range of middle school to undergrad college. The majority of this experience was in a one-on-one setting, though I have provided a handful of classroom style lectures, particularly when prepping for SAT season.

I am very passionate about learning and the learning process. I like to spend time trying to gauge what each student responds to. We're at a point with education in general where different curriculum will abide by different teaching methods, and this can easily lead to some confusion, especially when the methods for problem solving a student has learned by heart is very specific or unique. This seems to come up especially in early-middle grade school math. I like to really engage with them where they're at, and spend time figuring out how They feel about their methods, whether they find them helpful, or if they would prefer alternatives.
