I currently hold a degree in Government Studies and have developed strong skills in research, critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing, and analysis through my academic coursework. My educational background has given me the ability to break down complex topics into understandable concepts and communicate them effectively to students with different learning styles.
In addition to my academic qualifications, I have approximately two years of experience working in education with Houston ISD at Bonner Elementary School. During this time, I worked directly with elementary-aged students in classroom, small-group, and individualized learning settings. I was responsible for leading my own small groups and managing my own classroom environment, helping students strengthen their academic skills while building confidence and independence as learners.
I also served as an interventionist, providing targeted support to students who required additional academic assistance. This role involved assessing student needs, implementing individualized learning strategies, and working closely with students to improve their performance in key subject areas. My teaching approach focuses on patience, adaptability, and creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills. These experiences have prepared me to effectively tutor students by meeting them where they are and helping them achieve their academic goals.
