Real World Experienced Senior Java Developer Tutor

Vikram S.

Hi, my name is Vikram, and I’m a software developer with over 10 years of IT experience across various domains, including energy and financial trading, consulting, and non-profit. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a Minor in Mathematics. For graduate studies, I have completed a Master's in Business Administration. Throughout my career, I’ve worked on designing and developing enterprise Java applications, microservices, backend systems, and production-level software solutions. I’m especially passionate about teaching the Java programming language to students. Typical Java topics include: Core Java, Collections Framework, Java 8 Functional Programming, Multithreading, Coding Interview Questions, or even frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot and Hibernate.

Since I realize that every student is different, I tailor my tutoring approach to your skill level and experience. In the first session, I first would like to get to know you on a personal level and assess where you are in terms of your background and experience. Then, I like to set goals with you so we have something that we can strive for as the tutoring sessions progress. I typically use lessons plans in each session to go over topics which mean the most to you and your goals. From there, I can adjust the teaching style to whichever approach feels the best for you - either through visual demonstrations, step-by-step reasoning, or practical applications with an IDE and actually writing and reviewing Java code.

I think what really separates me from other tutors is my real world experience as a software developer. I can be especially beneficial for students looking to gain real world insights into the software engineering industry and how to combine that with their current academic studies. I look forward to working with you so I can help you reach levels that you may have never thought were possible!

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to working with you.
