Hi! My name is Nyomi, and I am a Cornell University graduate currently working as an Investment Banking Analyst. I earned my degree from Cornell’s Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management with a concentration in Finance, and I hold multiple FINRA licenses including the SIE, Series 7, Series 52, and Series 63. Throughout both high school and college, math and analytical problem solving were always some of my strongest subjects, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in areas that can often feel intimidating or overwhelming.
I tutor high school Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus, along with standardized test preparation for the ACT, GRE, and finance licensing exams such as the SIE and Series 7. My approach focuses on simplifying complex concepts into clear, understandable steps while also helping students improve test-taking strategy, speed, and confidence. I understand that every student learns differently, so I try to adapt my teaching style based on the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Whether a student needs long-term academic support or short-term preparation for an upcoming exam, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
In addition to my academic background, my professional experience has strengthened my quantitative, analytical, and communication skills significantly. As an investment banking analyst, I work with financial modeling, data analysis, and problem solving every day, which allows me to bring real-world applications into my tutoring sessions when helpful. I am patient, organized, and reliable, and I genuinely enjoy helping students improve both their understanding and their confidence in math and test prep subjects.
