I am an undergraduate at Texas A&M University studying psychology and behavioral neuroscience, where I maintain a 3.92 GPA. My coursework spans introductory and advanced psychology, biology, chemistry, statistics, and the neuroscience of learning and memory, so I tutor from a foundation of recent, firsthand experience in these exact classes. I currently work as a paid research assistant in a behavioral neuroscience laboratory, which keeps me fluent in research methods, data interpretation, and the statistical reasoning that trips up many students.
Most of my teaching experience comes from serving as a teaching assistant for an introductory psychology course at Texas A&M, where I develop exam review materials, lead group study sessions, hold office hours, and provide one-on-one support to college students working through difficult material. I have also tutored school-age children through the Salvation Army After-School Program, helping younger students build confidence and study habits across core subjects. Between these roles, I have worked with students ranging from elementary age through college in classroom, small group, and individual settings over the past two years.
My approach is to start from what the student already understands and build outward, using their own assignments, lecture slides, and practice problems rather than a generic script. I focus on the reasoning behind each concept so that students can work through unfamiliar questions instead of memorizing in isolation, and I check understanding often by having students explain ideas back to me. I am especially well suited to tutor psychology, neuroscience, introductory biology and chemistry, statistics, and the psychological and social foundations section of the MCAT, an area where my major gives me a real advantage. My goal in every session is for the student to leave able to do the work on their own.
