Hello! I'm Amanda and I graduated from KatyISD in 2020 with a 3.8 gpa on a 4.0 scale. I was a student in KatyISD since 3rd grade after moving to Texas from California. I always was one of the 'nerdy' kids all the teachers knew; which you can imagine caused so many awkward interactions with teachers recognizing me at grocery stores and places outside of school. From 9th grade through 12th my English teachers often highly praised and even kept my writing pieces to use as more peer-level and relatable examples for future students. They often said my essays were well structured, explained, thought provoking, and also that my penmanship was absolutely horrific. I also wrote very emotionally raw poetry that some teachers adored, and others refused to let me read them any aloud again because I was 'a bit too good at evoking emotion' and they already were low on tissue as stereotypically teachers tend to be.

My peers often would ask me for help understanding concepts or literary devices, and I thoroughly enjoyed using their personal interests and 'language' so to speak to help them better understand the confusing point they were hung up on.
In essay writing specifically, my friends even from other schools, states, and grades that I sometimes only knew online would frequently ask me to read over their writing. They would ask for me to help them 'find out why this sentence sounds weird' when their brain just got stuck on a grammar nuance they didn't even know was a unspoken rule in English, or to have me explain to them their teachers feedback in 'not vague terms and doctor handwriting.'

I love words and would be very happy to help you better utilize them, because these 26 letters can get you anywhere you want if you know how to order them right!
