Hello, I´m Anna Lucia! I recently graduated with high honors with a degree in Biochemistry, along with minors in Business and Behavioral and Social Sciences. I have been accepted into a master’s program in Anesthesia, where I will further develop an advanced foundation in science and analytical thinking. I also recently took the GRE and performed well, so I am familiar with current testing formats and can help students develop effective strategies for standardized exams.
I began tutoring in high school, where I worked for three years at a school-based tutoring center supporting elementary and middle school students. In this role, I worked both one-on-one and in small group settings, adapting my teaching style to fit each student’s needs. In college, I continued teaching by hosting study sessions for STEM courses, particularly in biology subjects such as introductory biology, genetics, and molecular biology. These sessions focused on reinforcing key concepts, working through difficult material, and helping students build confidence in their abilities.
My teaching approach is centered on building a strong conceptual foundation before moving into more detailed problem-solving. I break complex topics into manageable, intuitive pieces and connect them to real-world examples so students can truly understand what they are learning before diving into the details. I also place a strong emphasis on practice problems, as I believe application is the most important part of mastering any subject. My goal is to not only help students improve academically, but also to develop confidence, independence, and effective study habits that will benefit them long-term.
