Hello! I love helping students reach their learning goals and am committed to providing high-quality, personalized instruction to every student. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Biobehavioral Studies from The University of Massachusetts. I graduated Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.5. I also completed the university's Leadership Development Program. I taught high school biology for seven years, which included teaching advanced, on-level, special education and ESL classes. I've always had a keen interest in biology and living systems and thoroughly enjoy helping students understand the sometimes-complex topics found in biology class, such as ecology, genetics, biochemistry and the human body. I aim to make these topics interesting and relevant to each student, so they understand why a knowledge of these topics helps them understand themselves and the world a little better.
While I was a student at UMass, I tutored fellow students, many of whom were ESL students, in essay writing, composition, and in various biology and psychology courses. This was a very fulfilling experience and is what piqued my interest in teaching.
I hold a 168-Hour, Level 4 Certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from The TEFL Academy. I currently tutor ESL online and I love the experience! I recently made the decision to add biology and essay writing back to my tutoring subjects since I enjoy these topics so much. I look forward to helping many more students reach their unique learning goals in a fun and personalized way!
