I am currently completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Houston, majoring in Public Health with a minor in Biology. My academic training has provided me with a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, biology, chemistry, and health sciences. Additionally, I hold an EMT certification, which has strengthened my applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and critical thinking in high-pressure, real-world settings.
I have been tutoring for five years, working with students ranging from elementary school through college level. My experience includes one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction, and peer academic support. I have assisted all types of students, from elementary to other college students, in subjects such as mathematics (including college algebra and statistics), a variety of science-based courses, and am exceptional at helping students with reading, writing, and essays (yes that includes SAT/ACT prep :))
My teaching approach focuses on building true conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, use visual explanations and real-life examples, and adapt my methods to fit each student’s learning style. I also help students develop problem-solving strategies, test-taking skills, and confidence in their academic abilities. I have always been told by family, friends, and students that I am a natural at teaching and mentoring.
I am very flexible with scheduling and work around students’ commitments to ensure consistent support. My goal is to create a supportive, structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing long-term academic success.
