I specialize in early reading and writing instruction for Pre-K through 2nd grade, with a strong focus on foundational literacy, phonics and vocabulary development in English and /or Spanish. As a native Spanish speaker and experienced educator, I understand how children acquire literacy in two languages and how to help them transfer skills between them. My training and classroom experience include working with diverse learners, including bilingual students and gifted and talented children, which has strengthened my ability to personalize instruction to meet each child’s needs.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with families to build confident readers and writers by using structured, explicit literacy instruction and engaging learning strategies.
