I have worked in Washington, D.C., for both the Legislative and Executive branches and was a sailor in the United States Navy. I worked on two state-wide political campaigns, and my favorite job was as a session-only employee with the Joint Education and Cultural Affairs Committee Clerk for my home state’s Legislature.
I have a passion for history and social studies. Growing up, I would drill my sister in U.S. and world capitals. Also, my mother worked for George H.W. Bush in the Executive Dining Room at the CIA, and I would take the picture with her and him to show-and-tell in grade school.
Although I am new to tutoring, when I was teaching, my favorite project was where students designed a Presidential Museum as their final project. I also believe that music and sports have a powerful way to teach the culture of the times being studied. Project-based learning is the best way to learn!
