I have a degree in engineering science from Trinity University with a minor in mathematics. I've been working in the oil and gas industry in Houston, TX for about three years. I am currently an EiT and have passed both the Fundamentals of Engineering and Professional Engineering exams in Mechanical: Thermal and Fluid Systems. I tutored and served as a teaching assistant for several courses taken in my undergraduate studies, primarily math courses. I have primarily tutored in one on one or small group settings. I enjoy enhancing people's understanding of topics and preparing them for exams. I have mostly tutored college age students and a few high school students as well.
My approach to tutoring focuses on a tailored approach to meet a specific student's learning needs. I believe people are best able to learn with an approach centered on their learning style and goals. By exercising patience and taking a custom approach with each student, I have found better results in people genuinely learning concepts and retaining information. Similarly, in a small group setting I am mindful of where each student is struggling and focus on an approach that will aid the group. I have a passion for learning and sharing information with others, and am delighted to see success in students I have mentored.
