Hi! My name is Tahsin, based in Houston, born in Bangladesh. I graduated cum laude in Applied Economics and earned my MA in Applied Econometrics. Hi! My name is Tahsin, based in Houston, born in Bangladesh. I graduated cum laude in Applied Economics and earned my MA in Applied Econometrics. Growing up, I was very scared of math till I understood the grammar behind the language. I have my father to credit for that. He taught me to approach daily life mathematically, and in turn I became one of the sharpest in class. That's the approach I bring in the classroom. I want my students to see how everyday things are translated to mathematics, break their fear of math, build a strong foundation, and progress to more advanced learning.
I earned my O’ and A’ Levels (equivalent to high school in the North American system) with distinction from the University of Cambridge. I began teaching mathematics as early as 7th grade, helping classmates strengthen their understanding of core concepts. After completing my O’ Levels, I formally tutored junior students for five years in Dhaka, Bangladesh, developing structured lesson plans and individualized learning strategies. Some students were foundationally strong and could power through advanced math with guidance very promptly. Others were foundationally weak and required extra attention to bridge the gap.
Since moving to the United States, I have worked as both a Teaching Assistant (TA) and Research Assistant (RA) for university professors, further strengthening my academic and instructional skills. I have also worked part-time as a math instructor with Huntington Learning Center, supporting students across a range of grade levels.
Each session I lead is tailored to the student’s learning style, pace, and goals. Whether reinforcing foundational math skills or preparing for advanced coursework and exams. I focus on clear explanations, structured problem-solving strategies, and consistent progress tracking to ensure measurable improvement. My approach combines patience, accountability, and high academic standards to help students build confidence, think critically, and achieve lasting academic success.
