Hi! I’m Nikoletta, an undergraduate at Rice University studying Applied Mathematics. I tutor because I believe I have a role to play in helping the people around me pursue new opportunities, build confidence, and believe in their ability to achieve their goals. Cultural literacy and global awareness have become core values in my young professional ethos, and I hope to instill that in other people as well. To me, mathematics reveals the intricate patterns that govern our universe, illustrating how everything is connected in both beautiful and bizarre ways, from the synchronized flashing of fireflies to the celestial alignment of stars. It can be found everywhere in the world, and should not be feared. You're interacting with math every day; it just takes some time to see that!
I began tutoring in my freshman year of high school and have continued to develop my teaching skills ever since. My passion for education led me to found CODE4U, a virtual nonprofit mathematics and coding academy where I teach students foundational math skills, problem-solving strategies, and introductory computer science concepts. Through this experience, I have worked with students of different ages and learning styles, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve their academic performance, and gain confidence in their abilities. In my tutoring sessions, I focus on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps and explaining concepts in multiple ways until they truly make sense. I tailor each lesson to the students needs, whether that means reviewing fundamentals, preparing for exams, working through homework, or developing long-term study strategies. I am patient, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to my students’ success, and I never give up on helping them reach their goals.
