Hello! My name is Kenya, and I am an experienced English Language Arts educator with over 17 years of success supporting students in reading, writing, and literacy development. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two Master's degrees in Curriculum & Instruction and Developmental Education. My professional background includes classroom teaching, curriculum design, and instructional coaching, which allows me to provide high-impact, research-based ELA instruction tailored to each learner. I specialize in helping elementary and middle school students strengthen reading comprehension, writing structure, grammar, and academic language.

I begin by identifying each student's specific skill gaps-such as decoding, fluency, comprehension strategies, sentence construction, or paragraph organization-and then design targeted lessons to address those needs, I explicitly teach strategies for understanding complex texts, organizing written responses, and developing clear, confident academic writing.
