Hi everyone, I’m Faith! I am a second-year medical student with a strong background in teaching, mentoring, and academic writing. I earned my undergraduate degree in Public Health from The University of Texas at Austin, where I served as a Teaching Assistant for Microbiology and Immunology and Health Behavior and Theory. Through these roles, I supported students in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings, helping them strengthen critical thinking, written communication, and academic confidence. I have over six years of experience tutoring and mentoring high school and college students, including first-generation and pre-health students. I have fellowship application experience as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow.
I specialize in writing support for college and professional applications, including Common App, ApplyTexas, and medical school applications, as well as academic essays. My teaching style is individualized and student-centered. I focus on idea development, structure, storytelling, and revision strategies to help students communicate their experiences clearly and authentically. Rather than rewriting for students, I guide them through the writing process so they gain transferable skills and confidence. I believe strong writing comes from understanding both your message and your audience, and I work closely with students to refine their voice while meeting application expectations.
I know the application process can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to create a supportive, low-stress environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing as writers. I offer an initial consultation to understand each student’s goals and learning style, and I clearly communicate expectations and policies before sessions begin, including advance notice for cancellations. I truly enjoy building meaningful mentoring relationships and helping students recognize the power of their own stories. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to schedule a session.
