Hello, my name is Ashley, and I am a college biology major on a pre-med track currently in my second semester at Baylor University. I have a strong foundation in science, having taken biology and related courses throughout high school and continuing to perform well in my college coursework. Because I am early in my academic journey, I am able to relate closely to younger students and explain science concepts in a clear, age-appropriate way that supports understanding rather than memorization.
I also have prior teaching experience as a teacher’s assistant in high school, where I worked with elementary-aged students in math and science. In this role, I supported students in one-on-one and small group settings, helping them build confidence, stay engaged, and develop a positive attitude toward learning. I understand that middle school can be a critical time when students may feel discouraged or intimidated by science, and I focus on creating a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
As a tutor, I prioritize patience, structure, and clear communication. I break down lessons into simple steps, use visuals and guided practice, and adjust my teaching style to match each student’s pace and learning needs. My goal is to help students strengthen their understanding of biology and science fundamentals while building confidence and study skills that will support them long-term. I value open communication with parents and am happy to provide updates on progress and goals.
