Hello! I am an experienced educator with over 17 years of experience working with students who have diverse learning needs. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Academic Studies with a minor in Spanish Bilingual Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling. I currently serve as a Special Education Department Chair, where I support students, teachers, and and families with individualized academic and behavioral planning.

My professional experience includes teaching and supporting elementary and middle school students in both general education and special education classroom settings, as well as providing one-on-one academic support. I have extensive experience working with students who have IEPs, reading intervention goals, and learning differences such as dyslexia.

As a tutor, I provide structured, evidence-based reading instruction that focuses on phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. I tailor each session to the individual needs of the student and use clear, systematic strategies to build reading skills and confidence. I also support executive functioning skills such as organization, task completion, and study strategies when appropriate. I can also support math and science.

I have experience collaborating closely with parents and school teams to reinforce skills being taught in the classroom and to support student progress. While I do not diagnose learning disabilities, I have significant experience supporting students who have already been identified with dyslexia or other reading challenges.

My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and goal-oriented. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel confident, motivated, and capable of success.
