I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and an MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch, where my clinical training and academic experiences shaped my passion for mentorship and medical education. I am currently in residency completing my medical training to being a psychiatrist! Over the past several years, I’ve worked with students ranging from pre-med to fourth-year medical students through one-on-one tutoring, small-group teaching, and structured peer mentoring programs. My teaching style is grounded in helping students build deep conceptual understanding rather than relying on memorization, using clear explanations, spaced repetition, and active learning techniques. I incorporate practice questions into nearly every session because I believe that learning how to think through problems (rather than simply recalling facts *cough anki cough*) is the key to excelling on the USMLE Step exams and in clinical settings.
Beyond academic tutoring, I also provide comprehensive advising on personal statements, TMDSAS apps, ERAS applications, and interview preparation, using my own experience in medical school and residency to guide students through each stage. I’m committed to supporting not just academic success but also personal well-being; I regularly counsel pre-meds and medical students navigating stress, imposter syndrome, burnout, and other challenges that come with this journey. My goal is to offer a supportive, structured, and encouraging space where students gain the confidence, skills, and clarity they need to thrive from pre-med through residency.
