Hi there! My name is Anam and I’m a K–12 tutor and college-prep coach with a BA in Applied Learning & Development and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, along with an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. I’m currently completing my Ph.D. in School Psychology, where I’ve had extensive training in learning/behavioral strategies and evidence-based academic support. My background has allowed me to combine strong subject knowledge with a deep understanding of how students learn best. I’ve been tutoring since high school, and I love helping students discover their confidence and reach their goals!
Much of my experience has focused on supporting students with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. I provide executive-function coaching to help with organization, time management, and study skills, along with structured literacy instruction for reading and writing. I also create targeted math supports, especially for students struggling with foundational concepts. In addition to learning-difficulty support, I tutor core academics across K–12, including reading, writing/ELA, science, and introductory math through Algebra. My approach is personalized, evidence-based, and collaborative: I set clear goals with families, track growth, and break down skills into manageable steps so students feel capable and motivated.
Beyond K–12 academics, I also guide students through college preparation. I offer test prep for the SAT, ACT, GRE General, and GRE Psychology, along with coaching for admissions essays, personal statements, and career planning. Whether the focus is building skills in the classroom or planning for the future, I tailor my instruction to highlight each student’s strengths. I work with families nationwide online and locally in Houston, and I take pride in creating a supportive environment where students can succeed.
