I am a current high school social studies teacher with 18 years of classroom experience in Texas, including extensive work in U.S. History, World History, World Geography, Government, and Economics. My primary focus is U.S. History, with over a decade teaching AP U.S. History and more than five years teaching Dual Enrollment OnRamps U.S. History through the University of Texas.
I specialize in helping students learn how to read critically, master AP College Board Key Concepts, and translate that understanding into strong, effective writing- especially for the AP exam. I also work with students to develop study skills, organization, and test-taking strategies that lead to success in both high school and college-level courses.

My tutoring approach focuses on building content knowledge, test skills, and confidence. Each student begins with a brief baseline assessment so I can target their specific needs. From there, students engage in guided and independent practice with immediate, meaningful feedback. As confidence grows, students learn to self-edit and annotate their own writing, a key skill for college success. I track progress carefully so students can clearly see their growth and accomplishments.
I am a graduate of the University of San Diego and have taught in Spring Branch ISD for 18 years. I'm also a parent of both high school and middle school students, so I understand the academic pressures students face today. I have years of experience tutoring in person and am expanding to offer synchronous online tutoring for greater flexibility and convenience without sacrificing quality or personal connection.
