Hey guys! My name is Evan, and I am a junior at Rice University studying Public Health with a minor in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. I’m originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, and I’ve loved getting to know Houston over the past few years. I’ve always had an affinity for the natural sciences, especially as they relate to medicine and public health. That passion led me to become an EMT on campus, which is something I’d be happy to chat about if you’re curious about pre-med, healthcare, or emergency medicine.
In high school, I graduated as valedictorian with a 5.15 GPA and earned a 35 on the ACT, including a perfect 36 on the Science section. At Rice, I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA and earned A+ grades in both Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.
When I started the spring semester of my freshman year, I was extremely anxious about Organic Chemistry. It’s known for being one of the hardest classes on the pre-med track and can definitely feel intimidating at first. But with the right strategies, I discovered that it’s not only possible to excel, but also extremely rewarding (which is why I’ve stuck with it). I was lucky to have a great professor and strong study tools, and I’ve used those same resources to help other students succeed. As a TA for Organic Chemistry, I’ve worked directly with students to guide them through the challenges of the course. Whether you're stuck on reaction mechanisms, synthesis problems, or trying to follow a tough professor, I'm here to present concepts in a more digestible way and provide steady support. I also tutor Biochemistry and would love to share the techniques I used to earn top grades in both subjects.
As a college student myself, I completely understand the pressure of maintaining a productive school-life balance. I’m happy to help with study strategies, time management, or just be someone to talk through tough material with. Whatever your goals are, I’d love to help you reach them confidently and efficiently.
