Hello, I am Ms. G, a certified teacher in the state of Texas. I possess many skills and hold expertise in areas that you can’t gain through training. I taught 5 years in the classroom and have done tutoring over the last 4 years.
I am a proud Texas Southern University alumni. I gained the necessary skills to teach content to students from Early Childhood age to 6th grade. I have used the skills to obtain my Texas teacher certification and teach at public elementary schools. I taught 2nd grade (all subjects), 3-5 (math), and math interventions (1st- 5th) grade.
However, I have tutored students in middle school and high school mathematics. This drove me to get my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas of Arlington.
So you probably want to know what makes me stand out? I have passion and love working with students. I build relationships by meeting the kids where they are at. I am student centered, and work beyond my work hours to get kids the resources needed to be successful. I care about every student succeeding and becoming more confident.
Therefore, my students have all shown growth and progression. I have provided STAAR assessment tutoring for students in a school setting and tutoring center for the last 2 years. All of my students have passed their STAAR assessments and have improved significantly in any subject that I provided tutoring services.
