Hi, my name is Gaurav! I am a certified educator with six years of experience working with elementary and middle school students. I hold a Master of Science in Early Childhood Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown. Before becoming a teacher, I also worked as an analyst, but my passion for education led me back to school to earn my teaching certification.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught 5th-grade Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as worked with middle school students in grades 6–8. I am certified in EC–6 General Education and Special Education EC–12, which has given me experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs. My approach includes step-by-step instruction, visual examples, guided practice, and individualized support. I also use student performance and assessment data to identify areas where learners need additional help.
My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can learn; they just don't all learn the same way. If a student doesn't understand something the first time, I look for another way to explain it. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand why it is the right answer and build the confidence to solve problems independently. I strive to make learning comfortable, encouraging, and engaging so students feel confident asking questions and working through challenging material.
