I'm Andrea! I tutor in most sciences and math including biology, anatomy and physiology, AP Chemistry, Algebra, Geometry, and Spanish. I am a first year medical student in Wisconsin. I graduated from Rice University with a BA in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology and then earned my MS in Medical Sciences from Brown University. I am a native Spanish speaker and received a perfect score on the Spanish SAT Subject test. I am a premed student and have taken a multitude of science and math classes. In high school, I received a 5 on both the AP Chemistry and AB Calculus AP exams.

I realized that the classes I have thrived in were classes where the teacher made the content accessible to the students as well as enjoyable. I like to bring this knowledge into my tutoring approach. I am also able to break down the more complex lessons and simplify them so that the student is better able to understand. My tutoring approach includes teaching the topic if needed and working through problems with the student until they are able to solve them alone. It is also important to ensure the student is able to apply the topic so that they can succeed.

I began tutoring in high school when I became a member of the National Honor Society. I have experience tutoring students once on one from fourth grade through high school both in person and virtually. I tutored students throughout attending college and have now been tutoring for about 7 years. I am happy to work on any assignments with you that you may need help with or go over any questions you may have gotten wrong! If you prefer to work on a specific lesson or topic, I will be able to provide resources and problems for us to work through together. I am easy to reach and will provide fast responses! Feel free to contact me with anything you need help with, and send me the assignment you would like to work on beforehand if possible so that I can best prepare for our lesson!

Approved Subjects

Anatomy

Anatomy

have an extensive background in human anatomy through my education and clinical experience. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Rice University, completed a Master's in Medical Sciences at Brown University, and am currently a medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition, I have over 11,000 hours of clinical experience as an Advanced EMT and surgical technologist, where I work directly with human anatomy in the operating room across multiple surgical specialties. My teaching approach focuses on helping students truly understand anatomical relationships through clinical examples, visual learning, and interactive problem-solving so they can retain the material long after their exams.
Biology

Biology

Biology has been the foundation of my education and career in healthcare. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Rice University, completed a Master's in Medical Sciences at Brown University, and am currently a medical student. My experience as an Advanced EMT and surgical technologist has allowed me to apply biology in real clinical settings, helping me connect classroom concepts to patient care. I focus on making complex topics approachable by emphasizing conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-world applications that help students succeed in both their coursework and future science classes.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have a strong foundation in chemistry through my undergraduate science education, Master's in Medical Sciences from Brown University, and current medical school training. I scored a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam, demonstrating an early mastery of foundational chemistry concepts that I have continued to build upon throughout my education. Chemistry has remained an essential component of my coursework, from general and organic chemistry to biochemistry and its application in human physiology and medicine. My approach emphasizes understanding the underlying concepts rather than memorizing equations.
EMT/ NREMT

EMT/ NREMT

I am an Advanced EMT with over seven years of 911 experience and extensive involvement in both emergency and non-emergency patient care. As a Field Training Officer, I regularly teach new EMTs how to apply classroom knowledge to real clinical scenarios, strengthen critical thinking, and prepare for certification expectations. My experience working on high-acuity calls and mentoring trainees has given me a strong understanding of the material tested on the NREMT exam and how to explain it clearly. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, master test strategy, and succeed whether its their first attempt or a retest.
Geometry

Geometry

have a strong foundation in geometry through advanced mathematics coursework and years of applying analytical problem-solving skills in STEM. My education at Rice University, graduate training at Brown University, and current medical school coursework have strengthened my ability to break down complex concepts into simple, logical steps. I work with students to build confidence by focusing on understanding geometric relationships, proofs, and problem-solving strategies rather than memorizing formulas.
Physiology

Physiology

have a strong foundation in physiology through my undergraduate science education, Master's in Medical Sciences from Brown University, and current medical school training. My coursework has covered cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, endocrine, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and neurophysiology, with an emphasis on understanding how organ systems work together to maintain homeostasis. My clinical experience as an Advanced EMT and surgical technologist allows me to connect physiological principles to real patient care and clinical decision-making. I help students move beyond memorization by breaking down complex physiological processes into logical concepts using diagrams, clinical examples, and active recall.
