Hi I'm Kevin! I began tutoring 1-on-1 and in small groups privately then at the San Jacinto College Student Success Center in college.
Since then I have been teaching HS math for the last 9 years in Houston, Texas. My certifications are in High School math (grades 7-12) and special education.
Whether it's test prep, K-12 math, or college coursework, I am here to improve your grade, elevate test scores, and raise your confidence with an often thought of as difficult subject. I am also willing to work with adults taking college classes including Statistics, Discrete mathematics, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and pre-algebra as well. I have experience teaching and tutoring a range of students, from Pre-AP students to students with learning difficulties. I am also certified in special education, and can work with students who have ADD/ADHD or difficulties with math and reading.
I also love the opportunity to work with the earlier grade levels (elementary and middle school) as I have experience tutoring them and have worked well with them in the past. While I am currently studying to become certified in grades K-6 (generalist), my friends and coworkers have often described me as being "extra" when it comes to explaining things. They mean this in a good way, and it complements my patience. This is one reason I excel with younger students who often have learning difficulties especially in math.
