I graduated from Baylor University in 3.5 years in December 2024, with a 4.0 while majoring in Health Science Studies and having a Forensic Science minor. Throughout that time, I took many challenging courses including Biology 1 and 2, General Human Anatomy, Genetics, Biochemistry and more. Starting in August 2022 until my graduation, I worked as a Supplemental Instructor for the professor I had in Biology 1 and 2 when I was a freshman. Each semester I worked with a group of about 50 students and acted as a resource for them where they could ask me questions about difficult course concepts. I always replied to all my emails in under 24 hours despite my courses that required a lot of studying. As a Supplemental Instructor I created two activity worksheets each week and held two 90-minute sessions for students to work together on the activities in addition to a 60-minute office hour once per week where students could get 1 on 1 help in-person. I also created full-length practice exams that were identical in length and difficulty to the exams students received on test day and would give students time to answer the questions on their own and then spend the remainder of the 120 minute session explaining not only why the correct answer is right, but also what made each incorrect answer wrong. On average, students who attended at least 10 of my sessions received a whole letter grade higher for their final grade than students who did not attend my sessions.
In 2025 I self-studied for the MCAT in 13 weeks and received a 517 in April with my highest sections scores being in the Biology/Biochemistry and Psychology/Sociology sections, however, I received a 90% or higher on all sub-sections. I aim to work with students and meet them where they are in their studies whether that be specifically targeting a specific topic or focusing more broadly on multiple topics. I am a very patient and understanding person and am always willing to re-explain or explain a topic in a different way if you do not understand it the first time.
