I have nearly thirty years of experience in training and education. My bachelor’s degree is in History from Texas A&M University and my master’s degree from Lamar University is in Applied Criminology (Criminal Justice). Additionally, I spent the eleven years as a law enforcement training instructor and coordinator. I’m a state certified police instructor and have taught numerous topics to thousands of students. I’ve also been an instructor in a local 2-year college Criminal Justice program. I was a training developer for the FBI for two years ... I know what I'm doing!
My teaching/tutoring philosophy is simple; I help the student discover different and better ways to learn the material than simply trying to read and memorize it! I show you ways to organize the material to make it easier to comprehend. I relate the material to things you already know and show the relationships that are sometimes hard to discern. Being a developer of curriculum and exams, I can show you the sometimes-hidden logic in test questions and help increase the probability of getting a correct answer even if you just guess.
