Bio

I have taught Math at the collegiate and secondary level for most of the past 21 years. I am currently a Mathematics Lecturer for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and an Adjunct Math and Criminal Justice Instructor for the City Colleges of Chicago. I have also tutored math subjects at the collegiate level while working at Horry-Georgetown Technical College and Wright College, in addition to being a Math Instructor. I have taught Math at the collegiate and secondary level for most of the past 21 years. I am currently a Mathematics Lecturer for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and an Adjunct Math and Criminal Justice Instructor for the City Colleges of Chicago. I have also tutored math subjects at the collegiate level while working at Horry-Georgetown Technical College and Wright College, in addition to being a Math Instructor. I have taught Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra numerous times at the college level for most of the last 16 years at several different colleges in several different states. I have also taught Algebra 1 numerous times before and have a teaching license in secondary math (grades 7 through 12 or grades 9 through 12) in four different states.

I have taught Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, General Education Mathematics, and Pre-Calculus at the college level at several different colleges in several different states, and am currently teaching Technical Math and Pre-Calculus at the College of Southern Nevada. I have taught Elementary Statistics, Introductory Statistics, Statistics I, Statistics II, Business Statistics I, Business Statistics II, and Probability and Statistics at several different colleges, including Moraine Valley Community College, Benedictine University at Springfield, Harold Washington College (one of the City Colleges of Chicago), Horry Georgetown Technical College, Brown Mackie College, and Triton College. I have taught AP Statistics twice and have attended three different sessions on how to Teach AP Statistics, and have several different materials to share with students, including practice AP Statistics multiple choice and free response questions to assist students with studying for quizzes, tests, and the AP Exam. I have tutored students in Statistics for the last four years, including those types of Statistics mentioned above, as well as Statistics for Business and Economics, Statistics for Psychology and Social Sciences (PSY 210 at UNLV and CSN in Nevada), and have also tutored some students enrolled in graduate level Statistics courses (both Master's and Doctorate level).

Experience we had with Rachelle exceeded all our expectations.

The very first impression: easy going with the pleasant personality, knowing HOW to teach professional. We tried another tutor (person who knows math, but cannot teach, not from WyzAnt site) prior to finding Rachelle. Experience we had with Rachelle exceeded all our expectations. She established good relationships with the student right away, went thru several chapters in one hour explaining concepts, gave a few problem solving tips/ shortcuts. Update one month later: We are very happy with Rachelle's performance: my son is much more confident now, received an "A" on one of the tests. I highly recommend Rachelle as a tutor: she knows how to encourage students, focuses on knowledge gaps. Her honesty and punctuality makes it very easy for parents: she is logging in EXACT time she spends with the student, if the session needs to be extended, she is asking for an approval from the parent. Rachelle accommodated schedule change on a short notice. Update after 10 sessions: my son's grade is B+ in the 2nd term (after failing in the beginning of the year). Student is able to keep grades on acceptable level, he doesn't need more tutoring at this point. I wish, I hired Rachelle 3 years ago, when we started noticing issues with the subject. I will reach out to Rachelle right away, if we see any issues with Math again. If you are looking for a tutor, who can help to restore student's confidence, improve grades fast- Rachelle is the one.

A Very Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor, The Perfect Teacher

We have only had 1 session with Rachelle and were so impressed with her knowledge and patience helping our son with his 8th grade Math/Algebra, that we are requesting daily tutoring sessions 4-5 days a week. Knowledgable with Clear Explanations

Rachelle worked with my son for the first time tonight for 1.5 hours. I asked my son how he thought things went and he said he started at a level one with knowledge of the subject (College Statistics) prior to working with Rachelle and by the time she left, felt less stressed and said his knowledge level went to a 7 or 8 with just the one tutoring session. My son said Rachelle did a great job explaining the concepts and how the graphs work, drawing several examples so he could better understand. Rachelle really helped boost his confidence and we look forward to having her tutor again.
