My professional teaching experience most recently includes serving as Assistant Band Director at Boswell High School in Fort Worth, Texas, where I instruct concert bands, jazz ensembles, marching band, and AP Music Theory. Previously, I served as a middle and high school Band Director in Alabama and Georgia, where I built and led comprehensive band programs, developed curriculum for beginning through advanced musicians, and consistently prepared students for performances, festivals, and state evaluations. I also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Louisville, where I conducted university ensembles and supported undergraduate music education and conducting instruction.
In addition to music instruction, I specialize in tutoring high school math, chemistry, ACT preparation, and music theory. I was a high-achieving student throughout my academic career, graduating as valedictorian in high school and earning a 32 on the ACT, which now informs my approach to academic tutoring and standardized test preparation. My tutoring and teaching approach is patient, structured, and student-centered, with an emphasis on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I have worked with students ranging from beginners to advanced learners and focus on building both confidence and independence. Whether in music, academics, or test preparation, I prioritize clear communication and adapting instruction to each student’s individual learning style and goals.
