My name is Sharon and I am passionate about teaching and encouraging students. When I was in college, I did not plan to be a teacher. However, when I got out of college and my husband and I had children, I realized that I was passionate about teaching them. I helped them with homework and school work they were having problems understanding and realized that I loved teaching. I loved it so much that I eventually went back to school and became a teacher once they graduated from high school....

I have found that I thoroughly enjoy making complex material clear and approachable. I am able to break concepts into manageable steps, adapt my teaching to each student's learning style, and create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging in the learning process. It is very gratifying to watch students gain confidence in their own ability to learn new things and gain confidence in their abilities.
I also enjoy really enjoy helping students prepare for taking state or national tests. As a teacher, I have had to administer a lot of high value tests and have had to take several myself. I know that these tests can be very intimidating and it is always my goal to destress these tests for students. The best way I have found to destress these tests for students is to help them understand what the tests are asking them to understand. I enjoy giving students the test taking strategies they need to approach these test with confidence. Overall, it is my goal to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where studs feel supported, motivated, and capable of success.
