Hello! My name is Stephanie and I'm a former middle school and high school math teacher. After working in insurance for 8 years, I went back to school to get my bachelor's degree in math education. I taught middle school math, specifically 6th and 7th grade math for 2 years. Then I moved up to the high school level. I taught geometry for 5 years, and became the lead geometry teacher in our high school. I then taught algebraic reasoning and algebra 2 for 2 years, and became lead teacher in both those areas as well. During this time I went back and earned my masters degree in educational leadership with my principal certification, and later my school counseling certification. I'm also ELL certified. After teaching for 9 years, I became a school counselor at an elementary for one year before moving to the private sector. I was hired as a school data analyst for an online school platform.
Math is my favorite subject and one of my favorite things to do is help other people see that they CAN "do" math. So many people say they can't "do" math, but that's not true. They just haven't had someone help them see it in a way they can understand it. And that's something I've been gifted with, being able to explain something multiple ways to help people understand.
I look forward to thos opportunity to help more students see that math isn't some scary thing and that it is something they can do.
