Hi there!

Basically, I know how the brain learns. I studied neuroscience at UT, and this sets me apart from most MCAT tutors. If you want to cram a mountain of knowledge into your head (like for the MCAT), then team up with someone who understands the brain!

Why Pick Me:

Back in Austin, getting ready for the MCAT felt daunting. I had studied neuroscience (how learning, memory, and practice really work), so I made a study routine that works with the brain. You only need to do a few things right to get a great score. That approach got me a 524 on the MCAT (100th percentile).

My Approach:

Lots of courses out there don’t make sense. They use tactics based on bad science and brain myths, or they bury you in unnecessary rules. I use a simpler approach based on two principles of neuroscience:

1. Everyone learns the same way at a deep level. We build knowledge by reusing pathways in our brain. A cycle of learning, forgetting, and learning again. This digs information into your brain like a river carving a canyon.

That means... You must space out your repetition to forget and relearn things more than once.

2. You only get better at the exact thing you practice. Most painters can’t sculpt, and most F1 drivers can't fly a plane.

That means... To answer MCAT questions, you have to practice answering questions. Stop practicing the wrong thing (books, videos, study guides).

That means... To know a concept on the fly, you have to practice explaining it from memory. With one hint, could you explain the whole subject? Stop practicing the wrong thing (most flashcards / Anki decks just give you a definition and ask you for the word).

Qualifications and Expertise:

I specialize in biology and biochemistry. A Neuroscience + Biochemistry double major from UT and four years of medical school at A&M help me understand how this works in the human body. I’ve been a Biostats TA, an MCAT tutor with Jack Westin, and worked in neuroscience and epidemiology labs (I did NOT blow up the centrifuge).

Approved Subjects

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I double majored in biochemistry and neuroscience at UT Austin, which involved substantial coursework in biochemistry and molecular biology. I also learned about biochemistry as it relates to human disease during medical school. Previously, I tutored biochemistry in a one-on-one setting for Jack Westin, and helped prepare students for this topic in standardized tests.
Biology

Biology

I completed a significant amount of biology coursework at UT Austin in college, worked in a biology laboratory, and studied aspects of biology at Texas A&M during medical school. I also have experience tutoring biology one-on-one for Jack Westin and creating study material to help prepare students for standardized tests.
Genetics

Genetics

I completed extensive molecular biology coursework at UT Austin, which has significant overlap with genetics and a large focus on the molecular mechanisms of gene transcription. I also have strong experience tutoring genetics one-on-one and creating study material to help students prepare for genetics content on standardized tests.

Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I majored in Neuroscience at UT Austin and worked in a neuroscience laboratory studying cerebellar granule cells and their involvement in non-motor brain functions. My background also includes experience diagnosing and treating neurological conditions in clinical and emergency situations. I also have extensive one-on-one experience tutoring students for neuroscience mastery. This includes helping them master content, preparing them for standardized tests, and creating study guides.
