Hi, I'm Annemarie. I have a Master's degree in History. I am a high school teacher working in a classroom setting with 4 years of teaching experience. I currently teach AP United States History and AP Art History. I have also taught AP English Language and Composition and 6th grade ELA. In my four years of teaching I have already built a proven track record of high scores for students on both their STAAR and AP exams.

As a former ELA teacher I have knowledge in teaching reading comprehension, grammar, and writing. As a history teacher I have knowledge in helping students make connections between key events and themes, as well as breaking down how to write a history essay. I understand the most common misconceptions and struggles students face in learning this information. I have worked with students coming from broad backgrounds including students with learning differences and EL students. While I mostly teach 11th and 12th grade I have worked with 6th, 9th and 10th grade students as well.

Through my experiences teaching I have learned how important it is to tailor each students learning to meet their individual needs and how to do this. I have also learned how important it is to keep learning engaging and straight forward if I expect students to participate. As a result, I consistently try to improve my teaching methods to make it easier for students to connect to and understand the material.
