I'm Amanda! I am a writer, editor, researcher, and tutor. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies. During my time in college, I found my own passion for words, books, writing, reading, and language echoed in the passion of my teachers. It was their belief in my ability to improve and grow that encouraged me on my educational path. I approach my tutoring in the same way; knowing that each of us can get better and even love the learning process.

I'm quick to get to the heart of an essay or other writing projects and can help students refine themes, theses, and clarify ideas.
I mold my lesson plans to the student and their needs as best I can and try to make it fun.

For over fifteen years, I've also worked one-on-one and in group settings to help students and writers refine their writing skills for papers, projects, stories, memoirs, and novels. I've taught Creative Writing workshops. I have two years tutoring experience with a reading program working directly with children to overcome their reading struggles and develop their reading and comprehension skills. I've tutored English as a second language both one-on-one and in group settings for children and adults.

I love seeing small steps forward turn into giant leaps of knowledge and skill. I want to assist the students I work with as much as possible and welcome comments and resources from students or parents that will aid in their success.
