I'm Suzanne ,and I graduated with a teaching degree from Midwestern State University quite a while ago. I then taught 4th to 6th graders in Wichita Falls, Texas for three years. After moving to Plano, I taught 3rd graders for eight years. I stopped teaching when I had my first child. When she was eight, I decided to start homeschooling her and her five year old sister. It has been a fun learning experience as a homeschool mom. I learned to teach creatively as well as make it fun for my children. For 12 years, I have been a part of a homeschool co-op where I have taught many different subjects to many different ages over the years. Some examples would be teaching an interactive music appreciation class to K-2nd graders or teaching an insect class to 3rd to 5th graders. This year I am teaching a chemistry/physics class to 7th graders.
Teaching is my passion. It energizes me to come up with ways to teach children where they understand as well as enjoy learning. I enjoy finding new methods or ways to help that child with comprehending the concepts, as well as finding fun engaging review activities of those concepts. I also can empathize with a parent who has a child that is struggling, My daughter has dyslexia and auditory processing issues and in the past needed tutors to help her along the way. She is now a 19 year old making A's in college.
I would love to be one of the people that helps your child succeed just like my daughter had tutors that helped her succeed.
