I’m a 30-year RN (14 years bedside acute care) and college nursing faculty with 8+ years in nursing education. My style is supportive, structured, and high-accountability: we identify why you miss questions (content vs reasoning vs test strategy), build a plan, and track progress week to week.

What we’ll work on (typical):
• NGN clinical judgment + case-based reasoning
• Prioritization / delegation / safety / infection control
• Med–surg systems (GI, cardio, resp, neuro, endocrine, renal, etc.)
• Pharmacology + “what the question is really asking”
• Study plan, time management, and test anxiety structure

Best fit: students willing to do practice between sessions (even 30–45 minutes). If you want a “quick fix,” I may not be the best match—but if you want a plan that works, I’m in.

NCLEX

Feeling stuck with NCLEX-prep? Repeat test taker? You’re not alone—most students just need a different way of learning that actually makes sense. I’m a registered nurse with 30 years of real-world experience—14 at the bedside and 8 as a nursing instructor. I know how overwhelming nursing school can be (and how frustrating NCLEX questions are). I’m here to help you finally feel confident, not confused. I work especially well with: Repeat NCLEX test-takers Students who say “I know the content but still fail the test” Adult learners, ESL students, and those with test anxiety Together, we’ll simplify complex Med-Surg topics, review high-yield material, and master NCLEX-style thinking. I’ll teach you how to read the questions like the test writers want you to—and how to avoid the traps. Let’s turn things around. Send me your top three available times this week, and let’s build a plan that works for you.
Nursing

Nursing

Struggling with nursing exams—again? You’re not alone. Most students aren’t failing because they don’t know enough. They’re failing because no one taught them how to think like the test. I’m a registered nurse with 30 years of real-world experience, and I specialize in helping nursing students and repeat NCLEX test-takers finally break through the frustration. Whether you're dealing with: * Test anxiety * “I knew the content, but I still failed” * Trouble with NextGen case studies and bowtie items * Overthinking or second-guessing yourself I’ll show you how to recognize what the question is really asking, use clinical reasoning patterns that work, and focus only on what matters. I break down Med-Surg and priority-setting concepts into plain language and coach you through the mindset and strategy to pass. Let’s stop the spiral and build confidence you can trust. Message me your top three available times this week—we’ll make a plan that’s tailored to your learning style and goals.

I have taught nursing school for eight years, which includes teaching, analyzing and grading collegiate papers in APA format. Supportive and Knowledgeable Nursing Tutor – Highly Recommend!

I just had my first session with Jay, and it was amazing! With 30 years of nursing experience, he knows his stuff and explains everything so clearly. Jay helped me get ready for my accelerated nursing program by covering time management, study strategies, the nursing process, and clinical judgment. He also gave great tips for understanding lab values, pharmacology, and pathophysiology. His advice on using concept maps and creating a schedule really stood out to me. He’s super supportive and really focused on helping me succeed. I left the session feeling confident and ready to tackle what’s ahead. I’d definitely recommend Jay to any nursing student looking for a great tutor!
