I graduated from Sam Houston State University, where I earned my bachelors degree in Psychology and minored in Criminal Justice. After college I began a successful marketing and sales career before I decided to get into education. Since 2014 I have been an educator and I earned my teaching certification in secondary Social Studies in 2015.
I love to give my students new tools to help them learn material that they have been struggling to learn in the classroom. I believe in finding the best modality for each students learning and give them activities and review games that set them up for success. The four modalities are visual, auditory, kinesthetic and tactile learning. For instance, If I have a student who struggles to learn information through power-point presentations which are visual and auditory modalities, I will reteach the lesson using a kinesthetic/tactile presentation over the same material. I have used this method to reteach my struggling students in my class and so I know this method will work with any student willing to put in the work!
I have gone through the process of scheduling my own college classes throughout my college career.
I have been a certified Social Studies Teacher for 4 years and I continue to participate in professional development courses with topics including American and World History. I also earned my minor in Criminal Justice in College.
