As an instructor at the college level for several years, I have developed a deep appreciation and knowledge about government and politics.

From the basic understanding of "who gets what, when and how" to more complex terms that define global politics, I can work to create an understanding of subject matter related to American and International Politics.

While navigating the graduate course work for a MA and PhD program I have become a proficient writer. Teaching has provided me the opportunity to provide reading and writing feedback and instruction for my students.

I worked in college admissions for 5 years and in a scholarship and financial aid capacity for another few years. Additionally I was the Executive Director at Karen Dillard's College Prep for three years. This prep center focused on test preparation but provided advice about the admissions process. My entire career has been in higher education and devoted to students success and helping students learn to navigate the admissions and completion process.

Through four years of undergraduate work and several years of graduate level studies I have developed a keen ability to write creatively and for informational purposes. As an instructor with writing based courses, assigning tasks and grading written assignments has charged me with developing writing rubrics. I have also instructed students with tips to use proper grammar and appropriate word choices with their writing. These skills will lead to success for the writing students I tutor.

Awesome Tutor

Mr. D is an awesome tutor and we were lucky to find him for my kids. He provided excellent tips in completing the College application essays and also helped in college selection. Both of my sons have improved a great deal in reading and writing since they met him and want to continue with him to broaden their skills further.

Very helpful tutor - easy to reach by phone/email/text

Mr. D met with my high school senior to discuss applications for college. He discussed ideas for essay topics with her and reviewed her resume. He was extremely helpful in giving her feedback on her AP English assignments one evening, even though it was at the very last minute. He replied even though it was 8:30 pm at night. He also responded promptly to help proofread her college application essays before she sent them out to schools. Very helpful suggestions, and always follows through on time. Mr. D is very personable and professional. I recommend him highly.
