Hello, I'm April! I am a recent high school graduate who ranked 5/487 for my class and received a full-ride on a national merit scholarship. Before becoming a tutor myself in junior year, I was able to have an SAT math tutor who helped me reach an 800 SAT math score(so I know how valuable the extra help can be)! I specialize in SAT math, but I am able to teach calculus, SAT reading, and even science. The second digital SAT math section is known for its difficulty, so my tutoring style will involve a hands on approach with plenty of feedback. My classes will involve a "I do, then you do" format. Or, if my students prefer a certain teaching style, I will gear my lessons to their preference. I will be available to help with any general questions students may come across on a day-to-day basis as well.
I taught 7 sophomores and juniors preparing for the SAT during my junior year, meeting with them once a week online over an 8 week period. During each lesson, we walked through SAT readings problems, before I would hold a short quiz at the end of every class. I have also helped high schoolers with general academic questions in subjects like AP Physics, Calculus BC, and AP Biology. I understand how difficult it can be to adjust to a new class, so I'll always be here to help.
I want my students to benefit as much as possible from my lessons, so I'm always open to any ideas from students or parents. I am quick to reply, so feel free to message me about questions or scheduling a lesson! :)
