I am a certified elementary educator with over six years of classroom teaching experience, primarily in kindergarten, within Denton ISD. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lamar University, which allows me to support students academically while also addressing confidence, motivation, and emotional well-being. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and understood.
I have worked with students ages 5–10 in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings. My experience includes supporting early literacy skills such as phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension, as well as foundational math concepts. I have also helped students who struggle with academic anxiety, frustration, or low confidence develop coping strategies and a more positive mindset toward learning.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I focus on building strong relationships with students and tailoring instruction to their unique needs and learning styles. I use evidence-based strategies such as explicit instruction, guided practice, repetition, visuals, and hands-on activities when appropriate. For reading, I emphasize phonics-based instruction and comprehension checks. For math, I prioritize conceptual understanding and step-by-step problem solving.
I regularly assess progress during sessions and communicate clearly with parents about goals, growth, and strategies that can be reinforced at home. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel confident and capable in their learning. I am passionate about working with children and enjoy partnering with families to support student success.
