Hello, my future students and parents! A little bit about myself first, I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two boy 10 and 14. My 10 year has mental health needs, learning differences and Autism and my 14 year has ADHD. I mention this because when I taught I loved to get the whole family involved at certain times to practice new skills.
I have been in education for 19 years, between working as a preschool teacher, working in the school district as a teachers aid and then as a certified special education teacher. I have worked with general education students 3 years to 5th, but usually I tutor up to 3rd grade.
I have worked with students who have had a wide range of special needs, ranging from minor learning differences, Intellectual differences, Down Syndrome, fine motor skill and kids that use prologue to speak. I mainly worked with students that have Autism. I worked with them in a virtual and face to face setting. A lot of my virtual student were limited language to nonverbal and we were still able to master a lot of their goals. I am used to and enjoy making "free style" lesson plans for each of my students to make the most of their progress.

If you are looking for a tutor that is able and has had history of teaching one on one and in small groups of student that are general education or students that have special needs I am the tutor for you.!

I am a certified general education teacher, who works with kids kindergarten through 6th grade in Texas. I like tutoring in grades Kinder through 3rd grade. I love working with the younger students and being able to see them having those light bulb moment go off when they learned a new skill! Yes, I have seen these pop up just as much even while doing virtual tutoring and teaching during Covid. I use platforms like Boomcards, Brain Pop/Jr (depending on rhe age of the child) . Kahoot is a
platform for prepping for a test, quiz and even for reading assignments. I, create my own lesson plans to fit the needs of the students.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have my certificate which can be shown if needed. It covers all special education but I have extensive training on working with student that have Autism, that covers behaviors that you my see due to the struggle of not being able communicate their needs and wants. Different techniques of working around sensory impairments and working with visuals and stories stories in a virtual setting.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I will show certification if needed. I prefer to teach pre-k through 3rd grade however, we can always discuss if we need to adjust. I love turning learning into games, making it fun and giving it some movement. Now this does not work for everyone. The big thing in teaching is learning what way of teaching or tutoring works best for each student and then learning their style and going from there. I have learn through my years of teaching if the kids are engaged and having fun the pressure of learning is off and they tend to absorb more knowledge. That is my goal. Have fun and learn!
Special Needs

Special Needs

I can show certification if needed. I work with a wide range of Elementary students that have special needs, looking at mild learning impairments first, fine motor skills (not an OT) , hand writing help, reading and comprehension help, math skill and that's on the mild side. Then also, working with students that have ID, Down Syndrome and nonverbal students as well, all while using different digital platforms to help them grow and learn.
