Hi! I’m Kate, a certified middle school math teacher with seven years of classroom experience teaching students in grades 6–8. I have taught everything from foundational math skills to Algebra I and have worked with students of all ability levels, including those who need extra support as well as those looking for additional challenges.
I hold teaching licenses in Texas, New Mexico, and Nevada, a graduate certificate as a Mathematics Specialist, and I am currently earning my Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision. Throughout my career, I’ve served as both a classroom teacher and a Mathematics Specialist, where I coached teachers, analyzed student data, designed intervention plans, and helped students close learning gaps.
My goal as a tutor is to help students understand why math works—not just memorize procedures. I believe every student can succeed in math with clear explanations, patience, and the right support. I adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style, using visuals, real-world examples, guided practice, and problem-solving strategies that build both understanding and confidence.
I can help students with:
* 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Math
* Pre-Algebra
* Algebra I
* Homework help
* Test and quiz preparation
* State assessment preparation, including STAAR
* Filling learning gaps and strengthening foundational math skills
Whether your student is struggling to keep up, preparing for an important exam, or simply wants to gain confidence in math, I create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and progress is celebrated.
I look forward to helping your student achieve their math goals!
