Dear Parents,

I am a certified educator with over ten years of experience in early childhood and elementary education. I hold a degree in Linguistics from UCLA and completed my teacher preparation at the University of Texas. I am certified in EC–6, ESL, and Special Education, and I previously taught in a Chinese immersion school where Mandarin served as the primary language of academic instruction.

My specialization is Mandarin immersion for children ages 4–7, with a focus on developing both linguistic proficiency and early academic thinking skills. Rather than teaching Mandarin as an isolated subject, I use it as the medium through which children explore foundational concepts in mathematics, science, literacy, and critical thinking. This content-based immersion approach allows students to acquire language organically while strengthening cognitive development.

In my lessons, children are guided to process, respond, and reason in Mandarin. Through structured storytelling, inquiry-based exploration, and developmentally appropriate academic tasks, students build comprehension, expressive fluency, and conceptual clarity simultaneously. My background in linguistics informs my instructional design, ensuring that language input is both comprehensible and strategically sequenced for long-term retention.

I work closely with families who value early bilingual education and are seeking a rigorous yet supportive Mandarin learning environment. My goal is to cultivate confident, independent learners who are able to think, communicate, and engage academically in Mandarin.

I look forward to supporting your child’s bilingual and academic growth.
