NEW to Wyzant with many years of experience! Native Japanese!

Koko K.

Have you always wanted to learn Japanese? I'd love to help you get started and enjoy the journey! I'm a native Japanese speaker and have been teaching Japanese online for about five years on different platforms. I've taught adults from complete beginners to intermediate learners, as well as students learning Japanese for business, travel, conversation, and everyday life. I enjoy getting to know my students and learning what they want to achieve so I can make each lesson useful and enjoyable. Whether you're starting from zero or already know some Japanese, I'll adjust the lessons to your level and pace.

My lessons are relaxed but structured, easy to follow, and tailored to each student's goals. I believe learning a language should be something you can enjoy without feeling overwhelmed, while still making steady progress. I love talking with people and creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. I've been lucky enough to have many students tell me how much they enjoy my lessons, and seeing them become more comfortable and confident in Japanese is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

I also have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas. Before teaching Japanese, I worked with children with developmental disabilities through nonprofit organizations and a local school district. That experience taught me how important it is to understand each learner and adjust my approach based on their individual needs. I enjoy working with different types of learners and finding ways to make lessons engaging and easy to understand.

I'd love the opportunity to help you reach your Japanese-learning goals. Whether you want to learn Japanese for travel, work, conversation, or simply because you've always wanted to learn the language, I hope we can have fun learning together!
