Music has been my life’s calling for over two decades. I am a professional jazz pianist with more than 20 years of teaching and performing experience, working with students ranging from young beginners to adult learners who want to reconnect with music. My background includes private instruction, classroom music education, and online teaching — giving me a versatile and adaptive approach that meets each student exactly where they are.

My teaching philosophy is built on patience, encouragement, and real progress. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all methods. Whether a student wants to learn classical fundamentals, worship music, pop songs, or jazz theory, I design every lesson around their individual goals and musical interests. I have worked with children as young as five and adults well into their fifties, and I understand how to keep students engaged, motivated, and growing at every level.

I currently offer private piano lessons on weekday evenings, making my schedule ideal for school-age children and working adults. Lessons are available online via Zoom or in-home in the Fort Worth and Tarrant County area. If you are looking for a teacher who is experienced, reliable, and genuinely passionate about helping students succeed, I would love to connect and schedule a free introductory lesson.

Ear Training

Ear Training

I hold two Master’s degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary — one in Music Education and one in Jazz Studies with a concentration in Piano Performance. With over 20 years of teaching experience, I have developed a strong foundation in ear training that spans classical theory, jazz harmony, rhythmic development, and melodic dictation. I work with students at all levels, from beginners learning to identify basic intervals and chord qualities to advanced students developing improvisational listening skills. My approach connects ear training directly to practical musicianship, helping students hear music more deeply and apply what they learn immediately in their playing.
General Music

General Music

I hold two Master’s degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Music Education and Jazz Studies with a concentration in Piano Performance, giving me a comprehensive and formally trained foundation across all areas of music. Over the past 20 years I have taught general music to students of all ages — from young children discovering music for the first time to adults deepening their understanding of theory, history, and performance. My teaching covers a wide range of topics including music theory, rhythm, notation, sight reading, music history, and instrument fundamentals, always tailored to the student’s age, learning style, and personal goals. Whether a student needs help with school music class, wants to explore music as a hobby, or is preparing for an audition or exam, I bring patience, expertise, and genuine passion to every lesson.
Piano

Piano

I hold two Master’s degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary — one in Music Education and one in Jazz Studies with a concentration in Piano Performance — making piano my primary instrument and deepest area of expertise. Over more than 20 years of teaching I have worked with piano students of all ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners learning their first notes to advanced students mastering complex technique, chord voicings, and performance repertoire. My lessons incorporate proper hand position and technique, music theory, sight reading, scales, chord progressions, and repertoire chosen specifically around each student’s musical interests — whether classical, gospel, jazz, pop, or worship music. I am passionate about making piano accessible and enjoyable for every student while building the strong technical foundation that leads to lifelong musicianship.
