My passion for teaching math is clear from my job history. I have tutored at Mathnasium for the last two years. In my role as a tutor, I have tutored hundreds of students in subjects ranging from Pre-K through Precalculus. My experience spans from foundational counting and number sense to advanced high school trigonometry, including specialized prep for the SAT and ASVAB. I have taught students both individually and in group settings depending on their individualized learning needs. My teaching approach utilizes Socratic questioning so that each student receives help when they need it but learns by stretching their conceptual understanding. Students learn best when they are given both agency and external help to reach their learning goals.
