Hello, I'm Casey! I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a master’s degree in Math Education. Hello, I'm Casey! I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a master’s degree in Math Education. I have 10 years of experience teaching in a formal classroom setting, where I focused on Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 education. As a teacher, 95% of my students entered my classroom with the same thought in mind: either “I’m no good at math” or “math is just really hard for me”. It has always been my goal to show students that math is not a mystery; but first you must know the rules. Then you’re off the races! Practice makes perfect, and the most important thing is for students to get a lot of hands-on practice. My lessons guide students through new concepts then encourage individual practice where I check in frequently, correcting mistakes and misunderstandings in real time, to encourage and reduce frustration.
In my 10 years in the classroom, I have taught in settings with students one on one all the way up to 36 students in a single class. Every student has different needs that I am able to assess through both observation and student inquiry. I encourage open dialogue with all students so we can quickly get to the heart of the problem and address it. My tutoring sessions are for the sole benefit of my students. Whether you’re looking for your child to get ahead, get caught up, or build confidence, I’m here to help. I welcome your questions, and I respond quickly. I look forward to working with you and your child.
