I’m a retired United States Marine Corps veteran and lifelong artist from Azle, TX. After my service, I pursued higher education at the Academy of Art University, where I earned my BFA in Illustration. My journey began in Concept Art for Game Development and I later found my true calling in Illustration. Along the way, my work was featured in the Academy’s Spring Show, and I completed the Netflix Animation Foundations Program, which gave me valuable insight into both the creative and technical sides of art.
I’ve also had the joy of teaching for six months at Painting with a Twist, where I worked with both kids and adults in a fun, supportive environment. I loved helping beginners discover that anyone can make art when it’s broken down into simple, encouraging steps. That experience taught me how important it is to meet students where they are—whether they’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to build on skills they already have.
As a tutor, my goal is to make learning art both exciting and approachable. I focus on patience, encouragement, and adaptability, so each student can learn in a way that feels natural to them. More than anything, I want to help my students not just improve their skills, but also build confidence and find joy in creating.
